About Men of God Training Institute - Bible Survey (2025-2026)
Men of God Training Institute
1 Timothy 6:11-14
“...but flee from these things, you man of God, and pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, perseverance and gentleness. Fight the good fight of faith; take hold of the eternal life to which you were called…”
Purpose: Keeping with 2 Timothy 2:2, the Men of God Training Institute is designed to teach, disciple, and develop men to be mature, equipped, and exemplary men of God for the glory of God and the good of their marriages, families, church, and community.
Just like a medical doctor must know the science of medicine in order to do the work that a doctor must do, all true men of God must know the Scriptures in order to do the work that God calls them to do. In other words, they must become doctors of the Book.
Curriculum: Therefore, this three year training institute will seek to develop men who know the Word, understand the Word, and apply the Word. Someone who desires to be a medical doctor first studies physiology and biology to know the body, then they attend medical school to understand the body, and finally they complete a residency to apply it all to the body.
In the Men of God Training Institute, year one will consist of Old and New Testament Survey in order to know the Scriptures. Year two will consist of Systematic Theology in order to understand the Word and its significance. Year three will consist of Practical Theology and Biblical Counseling in order to apply the Word in one’s life, home, and the lives of others.
Meetings: Each year of the Men of God Training Institute will consist of two Semesters, Semester One from August 20-December 17 and Semester Two from January 7-May 27.
The training will take place each Wednesday from 6:30-8:45pm.
Expectations: In 2 Timothy 2:15, the Apostle reminds and exhorts Timothy that he must rightly handle and teach God’s Word, but in order to do so he will also need to be diligent and be a workman. For the Christian man to be faithful to his role and calling, he will need to make sacrifices, work hard, be disciplined, and persevere in the strength of the Lord.
The Men of God Training Institute will expect the men to develop a vital and consistent devotion to the Lord Jesus through spiritual disciplines, make personal sacrifices not family sacrifices to complete the training and assignments, faithfully commit to and attend training sessions, complete reading assignments, be ready and actively participate in class discussions, and increasingly grow in service to the local church and its ministries.
